Why isn’t Casualty on tonight and when will it be back?

Fans will have to wait a little longer.

Casualty fans have a little longer to wait for their weekly ED fix, as the show unfortunately isn’t airing tonight (May 11).

The BBC medical drama hasn’t been released early on iPlayer this morning, and won’t be airing in its usual Saturday night slot later either, as the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest is being broadcast live on BBC One instead.

Viewers shouldn’t worry too much, though, as normal Casualty service will resume next Saturday (May 18) at 8.35pm.

Next week’s episodes will revisit Rash’s story, as he struggles to cope following a shocking accusation in regards to the whistleblower’s identity.

Faith will also find her past coming back to haunt her when an old friend is brought into the ED, leaving her to contemplate her feelings for ex-boyfriend Iain.

Meanwhile, Ngozi starts to worry about Nicole’s surrogacy, but finds herself interfering in the process.

Casualty star William Beck has recently admitted that he was surprised by the identity of the ED whistleblower.

A huge talking point among fans currently is in regards to the mystery member of staff who has helped with an exposé about Holby Hospital.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy about the story, Will – who plays Dylan – said: “The kind of speculation that I’ve heard about this so far has been spread very evenly across the potential candidates.

“I can say that I was surprised [by the outcome]. Of course, there will be people who knew, but I was surprised.

“It has been nice that it was kept a secret internally. It will be a surprise to everybody. And I am not ruling myself out by the way!”

Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One. The show is now releasing episodes early on BBC iPlayer at 6am on the day of transmission.
