Sometime before the former announced her separation from Kody, the Brown family patriarch admitted on television that he wasn’t attracted to her. This revelation deeply hurt Christine, leading her to announce their divorce in November 2021. Taking to Instagram, Christine wrote, “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart, and I have made the difficult decision to leave.”
According to the Sister Wives star, she was done with Kody after his confession and saw no point in staying in such a toxic relationship. Christine then took charge of her life in a big way! Reflecting on her journey from feeling stuck to finding freedom, Christine shared a powerful message on Instagram. She urged fans to take the leap of change despite it looking scary. “Over the last few years, many people have reached out to me, looking for the courage to make a change,” she wrote.
“Let this be the day that you step out into the uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or even the scary. Change is scary. But we can do scary things,” she added. Christine posted a compilation of photos comparing her time with Kody and after leaving him and finding David. The video was set to P!NK’s Courage, showing Christine initially looking sad until the chorus drops, revealing her radiant smile.

Over the years, fans have seen how Kody continuously disrespected Christine. During a One-on-One Tell All special of Sister Wives with host Sukanya Krishnan, Kody admitted to not being attracted to Christine. He also confessed that he only married her because of her status in their church, the Apostolic United Brethren.
“I felt a lot of pressure. Christine was part of, she was basically royalty in our church,” Kody explained, admitting that his decision was based on ego. “It’s not fair, but I look back and it was not fair for me to go, ‘Oh, this will make me look cool in our church.” Kody has also admitted to never being in love with Christine on Sister Wives.
“I just feel like, for the past 14 years, I’ve been sucking it up with her,” Kody said during an episode. “In our marriage, I was putting in so much effort.
