Miranda Rae Mayo & Hanako Greensmith Hug Kara Killmer After Return to Set: “SCREAMING”

Chicago Fire has officially begun filming Season 12.

The One Chicago gang is back in action. Chicago Fire’s cast was finally able to return to set on Monday, November 27 to film Season 12 of the hit drama. And it’s clear they couldn’t be happier to get back to work.

Actress Kara Killmer, who plays Sylvie Brett, shared a picture of herself in Instagram stories embracing Miranda Rae Mayo (Lt. Stella Kidd) and Hanako Greensmith (Violet Mikami), writing, “It’s happening!”

Mayo also uploaded a Boomerang of herself and Greensmith giving Killmer pecks on the cheek, alongside the celebratory caption: “FIRST DAY BACK I CAN’T STOP SMILING AND SCREAMING.”

The Firehouse 51 family always finds ways to stay connected, even when they’re not filming.

In August, cast members Greensmith, Jake Lockett (Sam Carver), Alberto Rosende (Blake Gallo) and Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter) had a mini-reunion and cuddled with some very fuzzy feline friends.

And in October, Greensmith took to her Instagram Stories to gush about co-star Kyri on his birthday, posting pics and clips of her close friend and writing, “That’s right mfers. It’s the king’s BURRDAYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is an icon. He is the moment. And I feel so lucky to have him in my life. Hips and ALL, honey!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, love u.” We can only imagine the fireworks when these two finally get to film a scene together again.

Chicago Fire Season 12

The twelfth season of Chicago Fire will premiere on Wednesday, January 17 at 9/8c on NBC, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock. In fact, all of the One Chicago (Med, Fire, P.D.) shows were renewed and will be coming back in 2024.

“We understand the emotional connection our audience has with these characters and we can’t wait to bring more of their stories to the forefront next season,” Lisa Katz, the president of scripted programming at NBCUniversal and Streaming, said in a statement. “A huge thank you to [creator] Dick [Wolf] and his amazing team who are the masters of producing incredibly compelling television week after week.”
