John Nettleton, star of Yes Minister, has died at the age of 94, his acting agency has confirmed.

A statement from his agent, Scott Marshall Partners, shared with the PA news agency said: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved client and much-loved stage and screen actor John Nettleton at the age of 94.

“He is survived by his wife Deirdre, three children and five grandchildren.”

As well as appearing in Yes Minister for many years, John played character Sir Arnold Robinson in the political sitcom’s sequel Yes, Prime Minister, in the 1980s.
