General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kate Mansi is currently in a front burner storyline on General Hospital. This story could even earn Kate a second Emmy, she earned the first as Abigail Dimera on Days of Our Lives in 2017 for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

However, in a recent interview, Kate seems to be hinting that she could return to the role of Abby again.

Her life off-camera didn’t always live up to the dream as she suffered from severe depression and anxiety all of her life and went through a divorce during the Covid crisis that left her broken.

Triggers And Trauma

The feisty actress waxed philosophical about their breakup. “It is hard to say why. I am not going to speak for him, but I have gone through the gamut of emotions, anger, etc,” she shared, trying to come to terms with her feelings. “I think at the time, he was just so lost.

Now that I look back on it, I think maybe he was just finding himself. He was going through a journey, and something didn’t feel authentic for him. He needed to work through whatever he needed to work through.”

For Mansi, it was overwhelming. “It was brutal. I have had depression and anxiety for my whole life. For me, in that moment, that wasn’t like anything else.” She described her rock bottom moments. “When he finally came to me a year later and said, ‘I’m calling it, I want a divorce,’ I didn’t leave the house for six days.

I was on the floor, depressed. I have my coping skills and my toolboxes to reach for, but with something like that, there is no tool big enough to ease that blow.”

General Hospital Spoilers – Why Did Kate Mansi Come To General Hospital?

Kate played Abby on Days of Our Lives from 2011 to 2016. Marci Miller stepped in from 2016 to 2018. Kate Mansi return until but left in 2020.

Marci then returned until Abby was stabbed in 2022. In 2023, Kate took over as Kristina Corinthos and replaced Lexi Ainsworth who had played the role for 15 years.

Although some fans were not happy with the replacement, there was no reason offered as to why Lexi was replaced. Kate recently spoke with Women’s World, where she spoke about why she took on the role of Kristina.

“Our executive producer Frank Valentini said, ‘This storyline has to do with endometriosis and surrogacy, and you’ll be an LGBTQIA+ plus character. He also said it would be a very juicy couple of years of huge, heavy-hitting story. I was like, ‘I’m sold. I don’t need to know anything else,’ because I knew these were stories I’d be honored to tell.”

GH Spoilers – Kate Mansi Describes Kristina Corinthos As “Exhausting”

Kristina recently offered to be a surrogate for her sister Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos). Unfortunately, Kristina lost the baby after falling out of Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) window at the Metrocourt.

Kristina had gotten very close to that baby and even explored trying to get custody of the child even though she agreed to carry it for her sister and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellows).

Kristina was later arrested for the attempted murder of Ava as well as manslaughter, in the death of the baby girl she was carrying.

During the interview, Kate revealed that some days she works 12 hours and has 100 pages of dialogue to get through.

Although she says she loves every minute of it, Kate says “Kristina’s exhausting me.” Kate also admits that she misses Abigail.

General Hospital Spoilers – What About Days Of Our Lives?

On Days of Our Lives, Abigail is in the middle of yet another “back from the dead tale.” However, this girl (AnnaLynne McCord) is an imposter and some people, including Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) have noticed.

Fans believe the real Abby will return soon and blow this fake out of the water. However, no one knows who will be playing her. Will it be Kate Mansi or Marci Miller that steps into the role or could it be someone else? Kate says she loved abby and there is a lot more of her to play.

However, despite rumors to the contrary, it is unlikely that she will end up returning to days.
