Iain Dean and Faith Cadogan’s relationship was torn apart by her drug addiction but they have faced bigger issues since she got clean.

Casualty fans had a lot of thoughts as Iain Dean (played by Michael Stevenson) and Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) seemed to be reigniting their spark in tonight’s (April 6) episode. The pair were a couple until Faith’s drug addiction tore them apart. While it is clear they still have a spark between them things got very muddied when Faith’s daughter Natalia Malinovsky (Zoe Brough) developed a crush on Iain and made a pass at him.

Although he eventually told Faith she was horrified and has had little to do with him since. However, it seemed like there might be hope for the popular couple tonight when they had a properly civilised interaction.

It began when Iain tried to pull in a favour from Faith in order to skip the queue of ambulances all waiting to get their patient seen. While she couldn’t help him it looked like she was thawing.

However, she later confided in him that while she knew he was only trying to do the right thing by her daughter they couldn’t be together romantically. “Let’s just say that she was understandably in a bad place and you were just doing your best in a complete minefield,” she acknowledged about Natalia’s feelings.

“I messed up. My behaviour. I shouldn’t have cut you off the way I did. That was cruel. It was to all of us. The kids they missed you and I missed your help so I’m apologising. I want us to be able to work together like workmates. Like before,” she said ruling out any hope of reconciliation.

Iain looked crushed and fans also had a lot of thoughts and took to X to share them.

Elsewhere in the episode Tariq Hussein (Manpreet Bachu) helped a woman who appeared to be going into labour on the bus but all was not as it seemed.

His cousin Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) was still struggling to open up to his therapist and had an incredibly awkward session.

New junior doctor Nicole Piper (Sammy T. Dobson) was forced to come clean about her pregnancy but didn’t get the reaction she expected.

And in shocking scenes, Dylan Keogh quit after being accosted by new Clinical Lead Patrick Onley who suggested he was neurodivergent.
