**Connor Floyd FIRED from Y&R! Some Major Stars also take a BREAK! – Young and the Restless Spoilers**
In a surprising twist, *The Young and the Restless* has announced that Connor Floyd, who portrays the beloved Chance Chancellor, will no longer be a series regular. This news raises questions about Chance’s future on the show and whether he might be written out entirely. Additionally, three other major actors are also taking a break from the series.
Fans of *The Young and the Restless* have long adored Chance Chancellor, played by Connor Floyd. Floyd joined the cast in 2021, taking over the role from Donny Boaz and Justin Gaston. His portrayal quickly made Chance one of the most appealing characters on the show. However, it seems viewers might be seeing less of him, or perhaps none at all.
Chance has endured numerous challenges over the years, including surviving a bombing that left him with PTSD. He reconnected with his wife Abby, only to discover her growing interest in Devon, leading to a divorce after catching them together. Seeking solace, Chance entered a casual relationship with Sharon, but when he wanted something more serious, Sharon pulled away. Meanwhile, Summer developed a crush on him, leading to some endearing interactions. Chance was eventually shot in the line of duty, prompting Sharon to step back, allowing Summer a chance at real love. Chance then left his role as chief of police to work at Chancellor-Winters, where he and Summer soon realized their mutual feelings.
Despite the growing popularity of Chance and Summer as a couple, viewers have noticed less screen time for Chance recently. His last significant appearance was during the kidnapping of little Harrison by the deranged Jordan. Fans have been puzzled by this reduction in screen time, and now we know why. Floyd has been downgraded from a series regular to a recurring status, as indicated by the show’s end credits. This news has angered and frustrated many fans, with one remarking, “For the life of me, I can never understand why this show has so much trouble keeping a character when your character is the only person on the show with the last name of Chancellor.”
Although there hasn’t been an official statement from Floyd, fans will undoubtedly miss him on the show. In other news, Laura Lee Bell and Michael Damian are also taking a break from *The Young and the Restless*. Their characters, Christine and Danny, are leaving Genoa City for a while and will be featured on the sister show, *The Bold and the Beautiful*. Bell and Damian were seen filming their scenes on June 27th, and they will participate in a crossover event in August, attending a party at the Forrester estate celebrating Brooke Logan’s relaunch of her fashion line. This crossover will also mark Laura Lee and Damian’s 40th anniversary as Cricket and Danny.
Additionally, the show is casting a mid-40s to 50s actress for the role of Dr. Bower, an intelligent and empathetic doctor, potentially related to Sharon’s storyline. Lastly, Kate Linder, who plays Esther Valentine, is currently in Canada doing charity work with her co-stars Christian LeBlanc and Bryton James. Linder’s charity tea event raised $5,000 for the Canadian Abilities Foundation’s Canada Cares.
