Chicago Fire Casts Michael Bradway to Play New Firefighter in Season 12 Following Rome Flynn Exit

Bradway will make his television debut as Jack Damon, a charming firefighter who will first appear in the 10th episode of the current Season 12. (Chicago Fire has already been renewed for Season 13.) He will initially recur and could be promoted to series regular next season. Bradway, who also models, has only a few short films on his acting resume so far.

The news comes after Rome Flynn, who plays firefighter Derrick Gibson on the NBC drama, left the series after just six episodes. Flynn told our sister site Variety that leaving the show was not was his choice: “Like all the fans, I was sad to see Gibson go. He is a character I would love to play. I had a great experience during my time on Chicago Fire and have great respect for the cast and crew, and hope to work with Dick Wolf again when the time is right.

That wasn’t the only recent personnel change at Chicago Fire: Alberto Rosende, who played firefighter Blake Gallo, left in the Season 12 premiere, and Kara Killmer said goodbye the following February. 10 seasons as paramedic Sylvie Brett. To fill the void, Jocelyn Hudon (When Hope Calls) will join the cast this season as a new paramedic.
