Casualty’s Nigel Harman says ‘time is done’ on BBC drama and won’t return after Strictly

Casualty’s Nigel Harman joined the cast of the BBC drama back in February as Max Cristie, with his storyline seeing him reunite with his estranged daughter Jodie.

Casualty fans are set to be left heartbroken as Max Cristie’s, played by Nigel Harman, storyline will come to an end just eight months after his first arrival.

When he first arrived at Holby City Hospital he was reunited with an old friend Dylan Keogh (played by William Beck )and his estranged daughter Jodie.

The former EastEnders actor is soon set to take to the dancefloor of Strictly Come Dancing and compete for the chance to with the Glitterball Trophy.

Actor Nigel Harman has revealed that he has no plans to return to the BBC drama when his Strictly stint ends.

His character will remain on screen for a few more months, with Nigel admitting that his time on the show is “done for the time being”.

Nigel told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “My time on Casualty is done for the time being. There are no plans for me to go back at the moment.”

It is not known how Max’s exit will play out, but it can be seen fans will be devastated at his departure after quickly becoming a fan favourite.

An insider claimed: “Nigel is so popular – getting him on board was such a coup. A lot of viewers have been tuning in just to see him. This news will be heartbreaking for a lot of viewers.”

Whilst his character is still on screen for a couple of months, viewers will still be able to see Nigel as he dances his way through the Strictly competition.

After he was announced as the 13th star to join Strictly, Nigel said: “I’m amazed, excited, and terrified to be doing Strictly.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on ITV, Nigel said: “Charles Venn took me aside and he went really serious. He said, ‘You’ve got to do cardio at the gym. Cardio, cardio.’ I thought, ‘Oh my God’.”
