The team are falling apart.
The BBC has released a dramatic new trailer for Casualty‘s upcoming double-bill episodes, teasing that the team are hitting breaking point.
Following the departure of the legendary Charlie Fairhead, everyone is left on edge, and the medical drama will once again explore the mental health struggles of our the staff are they are pushed to their limits.
Rash Masum will be a big focus, as we see him have a breakdown after feeling overwhelmed, and seeks therapy in order to try and get on top of things. Teddy Gowan also looks like he’s struggling with some major trauma, although he looks like he is insistent on trying to bottle things up and deal with them himself.
There’s also the arrival of new clinical lead Patrick Onley, and to say he’s ruffling feathers is an understatement. He’s looking for someone to blame for the state the Emergency Department is in, and it looks like things will descend into backstabbing and paranoia.
Dylan Keogh seems to be his main target, and we see him seemingly quit. We’re not going to lose another beloved character just one week after Charlie, are we?
On top of all that, it wouldn’t be a soap without a baby plot and some romance. And that’s what we’re getting with Jacob Masters, and Iain Dean and Faith Cadogan, respectively.
Thrown into all chaos are two new Speciality Trainee Doctors, Nicole Piper and Tariq Hussein. How will they manage to cope with it all?
“I’m serious about turning this place around… Without this team, there’d be no Department,” we hear Siobhan Mackenzie say, and she’s not wrong there.
