With Casualty still off our screens, fans were loving a reminder of one of the most enduring friendships on the show, via social media.

Casualty has sent fans into a frenzy by posting a video looking back on the friendship between Stevie Nash (played by Elinor Lawless) and Faith Cadogen (Kirsty Mitchell).

The long running BBC Satuday night medical drama took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a video reflecting on the pair’s relationship.

In the clip, the two can be seen sharing banter and supporting each other through highs and lows, and fans were loving it.

A user with the handle @mishybabez_ gushed: “I love faith and Stevies friendship.” (sic) #casualty.” (sic)

@pamela2486 agreed commenting: “Absolutely love them xx” @nickjon3006 said: “Good friends always get past any grief.” Meanwhile a fan calling themselves @jays_stevie simply wrote: “The perfect friendship.”

The post comes as the show remains off-air, having last been on screens on September 16. It is due to return before the end of the year, meaning that it will be back within the next seven weeks.

When we last saw the pair, Faith was struggling to get clean after becoming addicted to drugs she was stealing from the hospital.

Meanwhile Stevie was trying to support her friend, but was also having difficulty coping with life due to past trauma she has experienced.

Show producer Jon Sen, has teased that the upcoming plots involve Stevie’s past and how she is still dealing with truma from it.

“So my final episodes will go out in 2024 and we come back on towards the end of the year with a really exciting storyline,” he told Radio Times.

“[This] involves Stevie grappling with the PTSD she feels from her upbringing and that dovetails perfectly with an ongoing issue with the hospital.”

“So it’s a really exciting story that we’re telling over the next, kind of, three months and that comes back towards the end of the year,” he added.

It was also recently announced that after bidding farewell to the cobbles on ITV’s Coronation Street last year, actress Melanie Hill is now joining Casualty.

The 61-year-old will be playing the role of Clinical Nurse Manager Siobhan Mackenzie, who is described as a “no-nonsense team leader who looks set to ruffle a few feathers.”
