Casualty fans all say the same thing as Dylan Keogh calls out Patrick Onley over error

After appearing to resign a couple of weeks ago Dylan Keogh made a dramatic return to Holby ED in the latest edition of Casualty.

Casualty’s new Clinical Lead Patrick Onley (played by Jamie Glover) came under scrutiny in the latest episode of the long running BBC medical drama as Dylan Keogh (William Beck) pulled him up on a recent patient death. Dylan has been blaming himself since his patient died after penicillin was administered despite an allergy.

However, after a whistleblower released damning footage of the ED, which was used in a TV expose, one scene caught Dylan’s eye. He saw Patrick in the vicinity of the patient in question and he drew colleague Stevie Nash’s (Elinor Lawless) attention to it.

When Patrick discharged his patient he could no longer contain himself. “It’s not the first time you’ve meddled with one of my patients,” he siad handing him a phone wth the incriminating video as Stevie looked on. An incredulous Patirck enquired what he was looking at as Dylan spat: “Why didn’t you tell me that you treated Samantha Harvey? Why did you leave me hanging out to to dry at the M and M meeting?”

Stevie interjected telling him, “none of this matters” but Dylan insisted, “it matters”. “Somebody administered Penicillin to a patient that was known to have a penicillin allergy,” he fumed at his colleague.

“Are you accusing me of medical negligence?” Patrick enqired. “Have you finally lost all sense,” he asked. “I think the thing that doesn’t make sense is that you’re still practicing,” Dylan announced.

Unfortunately, when challenged Stevie had to admit she saw nothing in the TV expose to imcrimiate Patrick leaving Dylan fuming. “It could just as easily have been your mistake,” he reiterated to Patrick.

Viewers were delighted by the showdown and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts.

One said: “So glad to see Dylan back at work and he’s worked Patrick out – Dylan is utterly brilliant again tonight (as usual). #Casualty.”

Another agreed: “Neeeed Siobhan, Stevie and Dylan going up against Patrick now #Casualty.”

While a third added: “Can’t wait to see Stevie and Dylan take down Patrick! He’s the one who has caused no end of problems since he arrived #Casualty.”

“I think the whistleblower is either Dylan or Rash. They both are angry at Patrick and hate the current conditions. #Casualty,” someone else suggested.

A fifth fan went on: “Dylan knew Patrick was trouble from the start. Trust Dylan Stevie. #Casualty.”

“All I’m saying is I’m here for a Stevie x Dylan team up to take down Patrick #Casualty,” a sixth commented.

Elsewhere in the ED the fallout from the Whistleblowers revelations loomed large. Cam Micklethwaite (Barney Walsh) found his confidence destroyed by what was depicted in the expose and it nearly had serious consequences for a patient.

Meanwhile Ngozi Okoye (Adesuwa Oni) was convinced she was to blame for the expose and confided in Siobhan McKenzie (Melanie Hill). However when Siobhan shared her concerns with Patrick, Ngozi found herself under warning.

After being confronted by Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) Siobhan was forced to reassure the staff that no one’s job was under threat.

And Stevie confronted Patrick about how much responsibility he was giving to the junior doctors.
