Christopher Cousins shared with Sid that he’s grateful to be kept on the show, though he’s unsure for how long or in what capacity, but he’s confirmed for episodes through May. Allan’s mission is clear: to get Ashley into the care of professionals in a protective environment. However, dealing with her alters is proving to be extremely challenging, and there’s no telling what damage they might cause in the meantime.
Ashley is in dire straits, her psyche shattered beyond repair. The April 30 episode of the CBS soap introduced Cousins as Alan Laurent, a shrink who connected with Ashley in Paris. Now, it’s up to Allan to help her before her alters carry out their dangerous plan to murder Tucker and frame Audra, ensuring Ashley won’t be tempted to reunite with her shady ex.
Cousins is no stranger to soap fans, having had roles on **Another World** and **As the World Turns** in the late ’80s and early ’90s. He was also a prominent figure on **One Life to Live** as con man Cain Rogan. In prime time, he’s perhaps best known for his role as Ted Beneke on **Breaking Bad**, with credits on **Glee**, **The Vampire Diaries**, **Bosch**, **Chicago Fire**, and **Law & Order**.
While it’s doubtful that Allan and Ashley’s relationship will move beyond doctor/patient, it wouldn’t be the first time Ashley got involved with her therapist.
