Sam and Spinelli gave us a blast from the past.

McCall and Jackal pulled a fast one on John.

Ever since Sam found out that the FBI has been holding something over Jason’s head on General Hospital (which took home the Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Drama last week), she’s made it her mission to find out what it is. On the June 11, 2024 episode, she recruited Spinelli for some McCall and Jackal action as they laid down a scheme against John.

Credentials

When Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrived at Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson, who recently paid tribute to the late Johnny Wactor on his podcast) hotel room, she found her friend with his face in his laptop, in a robe, surrounded by empty cans and bags of chips. He told her he had been at the investigation throughout the night, answering with a “negative” when she asked if he’d gotten any sleep.

Spinelli informed her that only an FBI agent with the proper credentials could access the FBI database, but Sam assured him she had a plan to snag John’s (Adam Harrington) credentials.

Mission Complete

Sam went undercover to the Metro Court pool and found John drying off from his swim, leaving his bag with his credentials hanging on a chair. In typical PI fashion, Sam walked his way and pretended to slip on water, allowing John to catch her.

Sam faked an injured ankle to distract him, and when he asked a pool attendant for some ice, the pool attendant hiding under a hat turned out to be Spinelli. He handed them ice before sneakily unzipping John’s bag and snatching his credentials.

Sam told John all about her “single” life after her divorce while Spinelli sneaked off and scanned John’s FBI credentials, allowing him access into the database. Once they completed the mission, Sam met Spinelli back at his hotel room, only to find out Spinelli had an unknown amount of files to rummage through to try and find what they’re holding over Jason (Steve Burton).
