It has been painfully obvious to viewers that Faith Cadogan’s daughter Natalia has feelings for Iain Dean on BBC’s Casualty.

Fans of BBC’s Casualty have been left gobsmacked by scenes involving Iain Dean (played by Michael Stevenson) and Natalia Malinovsky (Zoe Brough) as the young woman’s crush on the paramedic intensifies. The situation is further complicated by the fact that the infatuated teenager happens to be the daughter of his recovering drug addict ex-partner, nurse Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell).

Last week Iain tackled her about it and categorically told her that he didn’t have those sorts of feelings for her. However, despite this, she lunged at him for a kiss in tonight’s episode (February 3).

He immediately pulled away as the confused teen said: “You said you were happy to see me.” “Well I am,” he responded. “But not like that. Never like that! We spoke about this,” he told her.

Viewers were horrified by what was unfolding and they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their shock. @MissKittenFilan warned: “Iain you need to stay well clear from the family Xx #Casualty.” @KirstyCakes3006 simply exclaimed: “HOLY C**P #Casualty.”

Beth exclaimed: “Run Iain! – RUN!! #Casualty,” while Jane warned: “Iain you need to distance yourself from faith and her family and fast #Casualty.”

Earlier in the episode, Iain had made it clear to Faith that even though they were no longer a couple he still wanted to be a part of her children’s lives – something she was happy about.

The kiss came about when she was unable to collect her daughter so he volunteered to do it, as he had done several times before.

Unfortunately, when he said he was happy to see Natalia she misconstrued it leading to an awkward confrontation.

An embarrassed Natalia stormed out of the car but given how strong her feelings appear it is unlikely that even this rejection will be enough to quell her crush.

Meanwhile, Faith, who has only just returned to work after undergoing Rehab for her drug addiction, is oblivious to what has been going on.

Actress Kirsty exclusively told Express.co.uk it will come as a surprise to her when she discovers what has been festering behind her back.

She shared: “When she finds out about Natalia’s feelings for Iain she’s understandably shocked, but suddenly all of Natalia’s behaviour that’s been puzzling Faith or that she has put down to Natalia dealing with the aftermath of Faith’s addiction, makes sense.”

Revealing that she won’t necessarily place the blame on the youngster she said: “Faith is stunned that Iain kept something so important from her.”

When asked if there is any way back for Faith and Ian she teased: “Never say never right?” But despite her optimism for the couple this could prove a huge hurdle to overcome.
