The latest instalment of Casualty saw Iain Dean and Teddy Gowan called to deal with a drunken accident at a hen party.

Casualty fans all issued the same complaint after Teddy Gower (played by Milo Clarke) found himself the subject of unwanted attention while attending a callout at a hen party. He and Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) first encountered the inebriated group when the bride-to-be found herself caught in an escalator by her hair.

Teddy was left to explain to her that he would have to cut her hair to free her as Iain tried to ensure that it was powered off. While her bridesmaid argued the point he was left with no choice but to take the scissors to her hair in order to get her off the moving stairway and avoid further injury.

As he treated her in the back of the ambulance, her friend was adamant that they were still going to have a full hen experience much to Teddy’s disdain. When they got back to Holby however, they decided they weren’t going to wait for treatment and checked the bride out despite the fact she had a serious ankle injury.

It was unsurprising then when Iain and Teddy found themselves once again called out to tend to the group. With the bride’s ankle visibly worse, Teddy was keen to treat her in the ambulance. However, the party beat him to it and were all in the back of the vehicle with her when he arrived outside.

He argued that only one of them could go with her and as he tried to clear them out, the bridesmaid sinisterly closed the ambulance. When viewers saw Teddy emerge he was visibly shaken and had clearly been assaulted by the group.

Viewers were horrified by the distressing scenes and took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their feelings.

@blue_laur11 gasped: “Oh my god what have those girls done to poor Teddy #Casualty,” accompanied by a broken heart emoji. @Kloppenheimer cried: “Noo Teddy got assaulted???? #Casualty.”

@kellycrumpton94 cried: “WHAT DID THOSE GIRLS DO TO TEDDY IN THE BACK OF THAT AMBULANCE?! #casualty.” They later added: “I reckon those girls sexually assaulted Teddy as one of their “dares”#casualty.”(sic)

@teenamassam asked: “What have they done to Teddy, he’s distressed…#Casualty,” accompanied by crying emojis. @janemas1989 theorised: “I have a feeling that the blonde girl assaulted Teddy from the way the bride is acting with her #Casualty.” (sic)

Meanwhile, @janemas1989 lamented: “Poor Teddy I hope he will come back from this #Casualty.”

Following the assault, Teddy cancelled a date with Jodie Whyte (Anna Chen). While he didn’t tell anyone what happened, it is clear this will affect him deeply.

Elsewhere in the episode, the new clinical lead Patrick Onley (Jamie Glover) continued to make his presence felt in the ED.

Dylan Keogh (William Beck) and Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) treated a difficult case after Dylan took the young doctor under his wing.

And new Junior Doctor Nicole Piper (Sammy T. Dobson gained a housemate when she invited nurse Ngozi OkoyeAdesuwa (Adesuwa Oni) to share her home so that she would be able to bring her son over from Nigeria.
