BBC Casualty fans all say the same thing as Stevie Nash is arrested by PC Harry

Casualty’s Stevie Nash has been struggling in recent weeks as she tries to come to terms with, and find a solution for, violence towards medics in the ED.

Casualty fans were up in arms as Dr Stevie Nash (played by Elinor Lawless) was arrested by resident policeman PC Harry (Rod Hallett) at the end of the latest instalment of the long-running BBC medical drama. The medic had been struggling throughout her shift after recent events in Holby ED.

Viewers saw her bring in a resident police officer, Harry, into the department a few weeks ago. However, she has already questioned his integrity after his wife Mel (Amanda Ryan) arrived in the ED with injuries that she seemed to believe were caused by him.

When his wife was brought in again she felt there was more to the story. She tried to get her alone but was thwarted.

Visibly stressed and on the edge, when a manic patient became agitated she worried that he was going to attack Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) and instinctively injected him with a sedative in a reflex action.

Thankfully the patient wasn’t on any conflicting medication but she was called into a chat with other senior staff who tried to get to the bottom of what happened. Although off duty Harry, who had witnessed the incident was also present.

When Cam admitted that he didn’t feel threatened by the patient Harry pounced and, despite being off duty arrested Stevie, for GBH, humiliatingly marching her out of the ED in handcuffs.

Viewers were not happy and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to air their grievances. @Kloppenheimer fumed: “That abusing waste of oxygen on #Casualty arrested Stevie. F****** makes my blood boil this programme.”

@Tom_Muzzy_2001 gushed: “Just watched today’s #casualty episode and wow what an episode! Left on a cliffhanger as well! Brilliant acting from @elinor_lawless and @neetmohan! @BBCCasualty.”

Another said: “Tonight’s episode absolutely broke my Stevie loving heart #Casualty@elinor_lawless you are absolutely unstoppable! Those emotions were so real my heart hurts! Really hope we get to see Stevie next week and see Harry get what deserves!”

Mr Celtic added: “I *cannot* take it if Stevie ends up in prison, when… Donna was only just banged up a few months ago, and Jan narrowly missed charges for being an accomplice in the Switzerland plot. Tonight’s episode absolutely broke my Stevie loving heart #Casualty @elinor_lawless you are absolutely unstoppable! Those emotions were so real my heart hurts! Really hope we get to see Stevie next week and see Harry get what deserves!”

Elsewhere in the episode Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) prepared to bury his father and blocked Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari) from attending.

Viewers also got the first look at his cousin Tariq Hussein, played by Killing Eve’s Manpreet Bachu, who showed up to pay his respects and is set to become a Casualty regular.

Also, former Coronation Street star Melanie Hill made her first appearance as new Clinical Nurse Manager Siobhan Mackenzie and despite only being on the ward a few hours she seemed to share Stevie’s suspicions about Harry. Whether they prove right remains to be seen.
