Casualty’s Sammy Dobson confirms marriage with beautiful post

“I got married yesterday. And it was magical.”

Casualty star Sammy Dobson has confirmed she is married after tying the knot in a ceremony in Newcastle.

The star, who plays Nicole Piper on the BBC medical soap, announced via Instagram that she wed her partner, with the ceremony taking place at Summerhill Bowling Club Pavilion & Gardens.

“I got married yesterday. And it was magical,” she wrote in the post, which accompanied a stunning monochrome photo as she walked down the aisle.

“Thank you so much to everyone who came and made it such a fun and joyous day,” she continued. “Thank you to everyone for all of their help in making it happen. And thank you to @chhappy for saying yes.”

The post was flooded with messages of congratulations, with Dobson’s Casualty co-star Melanie Hill writing: “What a special day – congratulations to you two lovebirds xx.”

Kellie Shirley, who plays Sophia Peters, wrote: “Happy wedding weekend”, whilst Adesuwa Oni, who portrays Ngozi Okoye, added: “Congratulations angel! Xoxo.”

Dobson, who has also starred in Doctors and Byker Grove, joined Casualty earlier this year as part of a big shake-up for the soap, with the actor and comedian outlining how excited she was to join the soap in a statement.

“Joining Casualty has felt like a dream,” she said. “To become a piece of such a well-regarded part of BBC history is incredible, but to get there and find everyone to be so genuinely lovely, welcoming, and committed to making the best show possible is just wonderful.”

Whilst Dobson is still appearing on the show, there was a departure last month as Jamie Glover called time on his short role as Patrick Onley.

Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One and now streams first on BBC iPlayer, where episodes are released at 6am on the day of transmission.
