Chicago Fire set photos reunite Violet and Carver after messy season 12

These two are back, and hopefully mending fences.

Chicago Fire is continuing to drum up excitement for the new season on social media. The show began production on season 13 last week, and already, cast members have taken to posting fun behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram.

Miranda Rae Mayo was the latest to participate in this trend. She took to her Instagram Stories to post a photo of Jake Lockett and Hanako Greensmith goofing around on the set, confirming that their respective characters will be getting more screen time together.

Carver and Violet reunite behind the scenes

Those who watched the season 12 finale of Chicago Fire know this wasn’t a guaranteed thing. Lockett’s Sam Carver went on furlough after a heated exchange in the firehouse. As he was gearing up to leave, he got into an argument with Greensmith’s Violet Mikami. The two struck up a romance earlier in the season, but tensions really boiled over in the 51 locker room.

Violet accused Carver of harboring romantic feelings for Stella Kidd (Mayo). A frustrated Carver shot back, claiming that Violet had yet to move on from the death of her boyfriend, Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas). Both parties had weight to their accusations, but it definitely marked the ugliest point in the Carver and Violet relationship to date.

Carver’s fate on Chicago Fire was initially unclear

The season ended on an ambiguous note, with many fearing that Carver would not be coming back. Thankfully, Lockett let the cat out of the bag in May. The actor posted a golfing video alongside Joe Minoso, and the caption confirmed that he was still part of 51:

“When you and your buddy are enjoying a game of golf and then remember you’re on rival firehouse apparatuses on TV.”

Miranda Rae Mayo’s recent post, however, confirms that not only will Carver be back, but he will be afforded screen time to repair his relationship with Violet. We’re definitely pulling for these two to figure things out as the new season gets underway.
