Listen, Intelligence Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) may no longer be the same person he was when we first met him in Chicago Fire, but he’s still done some questionable things over the years and we know him. That’s how dark working with PD can get, especially after 11 seasons. Well, it looks like more of that is coming.
“We’re only at Episode 7—only 13—but I think we’re moving into the worst part of the season,” Marina Squerciati recently told TV Insider when discussing “Safe Harbor.” centered on Kim Burgess, ending with her and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) once again engaged. “I think there’s going to be a serial killer and we’re going to see a little bit of the old Voight rage return. So that’s really going to take control now.”
“We just started so I don’t really have much to say,” she continued. I am very excited. We started with a story that it wasn’t a clear-cut victory. And I love when that happens. I like when it’s not like we did our job, we won, but it’s messy, dirty. And I think sometimes people really like that part of the show, it’s like the last few seasons, so I think we’re getting back to that more messy and dirty part.”
We learned a little more about Benjamin Levy Aguilar when we spoke with him before Torres returned from leave in the February 7 episode. Voight, he said, “is on the hunt for a major attacker,” and teases that there are some “dark” things ahead for Intelligence. “And I think the trend that we saw with the old Voight will probably come back and that will be really interesting to see.”
