Chicago Fire will have a new commander in season 13, and it won’t be who you expect

The news is in the public domain, even here in Italy even though there is still one episode left until the end of the twelfth season: Wallace Boden will no longer be the commander of Barracks 51 in Chicago Fireafter his interpreter’s step back Eamonn Walker as a regular cast member. The ending gives a hint as to who might be her replacement in the next, thirteenth episode cycle. Or, at least, that’s what we thought before Deadline dramatically shuffled the cards.

Chicago Fire 13: Who will replace Commander Wallace Boden?

In the finale – watch out for the spoilers – Boden leaves Barracks 51 after realizing that he has to do more as a leader, putting himself on the line for the promotion of deputy commissioner against Robinson. That’s because, although he always tried to avoid politics, with her in command the future of the entire department would be at stake. And he had said that if he could get it, as he later did, he would want Herrmann (David Eigenberg) would take his place at 51, after proving himself to be someone “who cares about people, who listens, who always leads with his heart”.

But Herrmann won’t succeed him! Sources close to the production have revealed to the site that the new boss of the 51 will be instead Dom Pascal (name may change), a faceless new character who began his career at the Chicago Fire Department but has spent the last 10 years as a commander in sunny Miami. Dom is described as a cheerful person who works well under pressure and whose leadership style is different from Boden’s. Furthermore, he separated from his wife.

In Italy, the unpublished episodes of Chicago Fire they are broadcast on Sky Serie and streaming on NOW every Tuesday evening. The season 12 finale is expected next week. In a video shared by the official profiles of Chicago Fire immediately after the episode arrived on TV, a visibly emotional Eamonn Walker is seen addressing his colleagues immediately after the end of filming by declaring out loud: “I just want to say: the best cast, the best crew, the best work of my life.” It should be remembered, however, that the actor will no longer be a member of the regular cast, which does not rule out possible occasional returns in the future.
